January 2025 has been designated as School Board Member Recognition Month, a time to honor the dedicated individuals who serve on school boards across Arkansas and contribute to the success of students and schools in our community.
School board members are vital to the strength of our public education system, volunteering their time and talents to ensure every student has access to a high-quality education. These individuals are locally elected leaders who represent the voices of students, families, and community members, working to shape the future of education in Arkansas.

As a precautionary measure, Scranton School District will be closed on Friday, January 24, 2025, due to the extremely high number of students and staff out with flu and other illness. Let's make sure we're taking all necessary precautions at home to stay healthy and prevent the spread of illness. SSD will use banked minutes from the extended school day to make up this day.
